BATH WINTER FRIENDLY 2019

On Saturday 30th November, BULABDS rallied together for their first comp of the year at Bath university. We took along a big team including 14 beginner couples! After a lovely, cold, 6am start for the coach we arrived at the comp ready for the day of dancing. The Bath team did a wonderful job of presenting the founders hall in their sports complex, with a nice big floor perfectly fitting our ballroom routines and plenty of place for practising and chilling between rounds. After a quick practise and costume change we began with the ballroom rounds.

The beginners were the first to take to the floor and represent Bristol, which is very daunting but they all smashed it and danced their hearts out. We are proud of all of you for being so professional and dancing fabulously! It was a phenomenal achievement to have at least one of our beginners couples in every final. We also had finalists in Intermediate Ballroom and Latin and Advanced Ballroom and Latin events showing how strong the Bristol team is!

Special shout out to our finalists: ⁃ Ruth & Nicole, Georgia & India in Beginner Ballroom ⁃ Kiryl & Vanda, Michael & Beth in Intermediate Ballroom ⁃ Xander & Izzi in Advanced Ballroom ⁃ Xander & Izzi and Kiryl & Vanda in Intermediate/Advanced Viennese Waltz as well as ⁃ Robin & Harriet, Lottie & Wawa, Aaron & Iona in Beginner Latin ⁃ Marcus & Maria, Kiryll & Vanda in Intermediate Latin ⁃ Steph & Alasdair in Advanced Latin ⁃ Marcus & Maria and Steph & Alasdair in Intermediate/Advanced Samba.

Finishing with the team match, Bristol did a fabulous job with our A team coming second overall! It was a long day but every dancer did an amazing job of representing the club and showing all the skills you’ve been working so hard on in recent months. Now time for a well deserved rest over Christmas so we are all ready to go and smash our next competition in February! GO BRISTOL! Keeeeep dancing!
