Due to the ongoing health crisis we need to adapt our training and align it with regulations and guidelines given by the UK government, local authorities and the university. Our plan is to run our regular weekly classes in two streams, complete beginners and novice and above. Primarily these classes will be online; however, we will be putting on in person classes on a semi-regular basis when we have the ability to. There will also hopefully be opportunities for online classes for intermediate/advanced to enable some more focused tuition relative to the higher levels. As we assess the demand for the online classes once we are in term time, we will determine if it is feasible to split novice and intermediate/advanced as we would on a normal year. We continue to monitor the situation closely and will announce any changes in time.
Whether you’ve never danced Ballroom/Latin before or are an experienced dancer, BULABDS have a range of classes to suit you!
These classes are open to all and are aimed at those who want to learn to be able to dance socially. Classes are fun, friendly and relaxed.
Lessons are held at the once a week during term time. Please note classes do not run during the third term of the year. Notification of changes will be sent by email and published on our official social media channels.
The society membership fee covers the cost of all social classes for the entire academic year and social classes are open to all members of the public.
Team Classes are for those who decide to commit to becoming part of the Bristol University Dancesport Team member. These classes are split according to levels: beginners, novice and intermediate & advanced. The type of dances taught in these classes are limited depending on level, however they focus much more on technique and presentation, with the aim of training you for competitive dancing at your level.
Students from the University of Bristol, University of the West of England, and the Bristol College of Law are welcome to join our team.
